Sacramento, CA – On Tuesday, May 7, the National Coalition of 100 Black Women, the Douglas Leadership Institute, the Frederick Douglass Foundation of California, Rev. Derek McCoy and California Clergy will hold a joint press conference urging the California State Senate to amend AB 1510, and to expand sexual abuse protections to students at public universities. As currently written, AB 1510 only lifts statute of limitations for abuse survivors at private universities and limits the civil action that survivors at public institutions can pursue. This must be changed.
